"You may become more determined to stick it out no matter what happens if you generate money immediately," she explains. "Even if you face a hurdle or a setback, the reward of instant money motivates you to keep generating more."
Burt, on the other hand, warns that always having a "quick cash" mentality will slow down your rates and lead to burnout.
"When your goal is to generate money quickly, you may drop your prices and do things for less money than you would ordinarily - even if the job is the same." This can be quite discouraging, leading to feelings of overburden and exhaustion."
Document your initial successes for future reference to help you balance short-term priorities with long-term success.
