Your Google Adsense Cost per click (CPC) feels very small. Here are tips on how to increase your CPC and overall Google Adsense revenue:
Step 1: Choosing a Blog Niche
One that has an effect on CPC is a niche blog.
Just ask the owner of an education blog in Indonesia with a technology blog.
Surely most of them answered that the Cost per click of educational blogs is lower than technology.
Previously in the niche blog article, I have visited, what niche is suitable and not suitable for Adsense.
Step 2: Ad Unit Size
From the Adsense account data, the best Cost per click ads so far are:
- Responsive
- 160×600
- 480×60
- 320×100
- 320×250
- 729×90
- 300×600
For the size of all Indonesian blogs above the average of Rp. 300. Of course, depending on the niche, if a good niche can penetrate Rp. 1,000 – IDR 5,000.
So just experiment, which is a good size for your blog, because every blog has different results.
Step 3: Block Low CPC Ads
I think there are certain ads on Google Adsense that are spam and of course low CPC.
Here are some of the words I use to block:

Step 4: Creating Custom Channels
Placement-targeted ads always give you a higher CPC than other regular ads.
One of the most effective ways to increase Adsense Cost per click (CPC), is to attract AdWords advertisers to consider your blog / website as a target for ad placement.
So from now on, let's create a custom channel.
Step 5: Enable Interest-Based Ads
From my Adsense stats, interest-based ads are the second highest value ad, trailing only to placement targeting.
To activate or deactivate the interest-based advertising feature, you can set it to:
- Select the Blocking Control menu.
- Select All Sites.
- Select Ad serving.
- By default everything is allowed, just set it as needed.
Step 6: Ad Placement Location
This has to do with the first point which is placement targeting. That is, the placement or location of the ad has a lot to do with CTR and CPC.
If the ad is placed at the top half of the screen (above the fold), or in other important locations, then the opportunity to get ads with targeted placements from advertisers is relatively greater, which ultimately makes CPC also increase.
Step 7 : Enable Third Party Ad Network
Google integrates third party advertising services in Adsense. This means that third-party ads will compete with Adsense ads and will show the highest-rated ads on your blog.
Make sure you have enabled third-party ad networks, here's how:
- Select the Blocking Control menu.
- Select All Sites.
- Select Ad Network.
- Then activate it.
In addition you can also disable ad networks with low CPC and CPM, at the bottom.
To find out which ad network is performing poorly, you can look in the Reports menu and select Ad Network.
Step 8 : Number of Ad Units
The large number of ad units used on one page does not have a direct influence on the CPC value, but there are several factors that affect the CPC value indirectly.
If you have too many ad blocks on your blog, advertisers may avoid your blog, thereby missing out on opportunities to get placement-targeted ads.
Remember that placement-targeted ads always give you a higher CPC than other ads, so if you lose them, it will have a huge impact on your average Adsense CPC.
Step 9 : Determine the Target Location of Visitors
It's no secret anymore, each location or country has a different CPC. The most common examples are Indonesia and the US, the CPC here and there is definitely higher.
So if you want to increase Adsense CPC, make sure to also specify a location other than the blog niche.
Step 10: Increase Source of Visitors from Search Engines
Visitors from search engines on average can increase the CTR and CPC of Google Adsense ads.
The most basic example, you have an article that discusses the cheapest cellphone, then visitors from search engines by typing the keyword "cheapest cellphone" visit the article.
Then in the article visitors see HP ads that match what they are looking for. So that way visitors will visit the ad and even buy the cellphone.
From the example above, CPC and CTR will definitely increase, the point is that ads are relevant to articles and visitors CPC and CTR will increase.
